Beauty | The Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick Collection

Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks When it comes to lipsticks, I’m high end through and though. Well, I was, until the Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks came into my life.

The Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks are the latest lip offering from the brand. & at £8.99 a tube, they are a little bit of a bargain, to say the least. I wasn’t a fan of their liquid lipstick, would I like these?

& am I digging them, I hear you ask? You betcha bottom dollar I am.

Does anyone even say that anymore??? Just did.

Anyway, lipsticks. I very luckily was a receiver of the full new range of colours available in this collection and more took my fancy than not. I’m not a fan of super nudes or orange tones as I feel they make my teeth appear much more yellow.

So two shades within the box were a no-no.

But all the other colours? Well, they are just an absolute delight.

First, let me mention the incredible shape of the lipstick in the bullet. It’s curved and pointed for precision and is probably the most genius lipstick shape I’ve come across to date.

I’m always a bit dubious with matte ranges from high street brands as sometimes the texture can be rather chalky, but luckily, this offering from Bourjois really aren’t. They are unbelievably creamy upon application and don’t leave your lips feeling cracked or dried out.

Is it obvious for me to say that they do feel, in fact, velvet-y?!

I’ve tried out a couple of colours on a day wearing basis now, and I am so in love. They are my go-to lipsticks at the moment for work.

I would say that the first 5-6 lipsticks within the range are wearable without a lipliner, but can wear a lot quicker than some of the brighter shades, especially if you love to chug down glasses of water the way I do.

The darker shades definitely require a good lip liner to prevent any bleed and help with precision in applying. All the swatches in this post were without the use of a liner and you can see the unevenness is a lot more obvious with the latter shades.

I wore a dark red shade, (11) to work with a good lip liner underneath and I pretty much didn’t have to top it up all day – amazing, huh? Here’s a little run down of all the Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks shades. I even swatched them all on my lips for you, cos that’s what beauty bloggers do, right?
