*Gifted experience in collaboration with The Forge*

My tables have turned and I, myself, am now an apartment-renter. & I couldn’t be happier. So when the team at The Forge in Newcastle got in touch asking if I wanted to check them out, I jumped at the chance.
I love our little flat so much and condensed life is the one for me. I love the reduced levels of cleaning and the fact I don’t have to walk upstairs to go to bed.
Although, yano, it’s a 2nd floor apartment with no lift.
The Forge is based in Newcastle City Centre just round the corner from the Life Centre, one of my favourite places. It hosts seven floors of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments all with open plan living spaces and integrated kitchens.

I’ve learned to absolutely love our open plan space that we also have. I love that I can sit on the sofa with a beer whilst I’m writing this and still see Josh cooking away.
The dream is being well and truly lived guys.
There is a 24/7 concierge service who are ready to help whenever you need it. The team that we were lucky to meet throughout our stay were absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond to make sure we felt right at home whilst we were there!
There’s just something about friendly service that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I didn’t know what ‘built-to-rent’ apartments were as it’s a pretty new concept here in the UK. But apartments like The Forge provide high-quality rental options with a professional landlord with flexible lease terms.
It’s a new and exciting way to rent for those who aren’t quite ready to own their own place but still need that place of complete independence.

As soon as we walked into the apartment, although it was a show apartment I was like HOLY FRICK, decor goals. From how the beds were styled to the little kitchen bits and bobs.
I was in love.
Considering it was so much different to our little 6-flat apartment block at home, you really do feel like you’re in your own space but with the added benefits of the shared spaces.
What shared spaces you talkin’ ’bout, Megan?
The Forge are all about community and it shows. I’ve never actually seen or heard of an apartment block that encourages community in a way that these guys do.
They have a fantastic lounge area for their residents to enjoy. From huge sofas surrounding a large TV to cosy hubs for you to bring your laptop to and work. From swinging chairs to read a book on and a meeting room to book out if you need it.
They’ve thought of it all.
Unlimited free hot drinks included. Did someone say hot chocolate on tap?!
I’ll take 20.
Everyday.

If you’re into your fitness, like you guys know I am, there’s also an onsite gym to use. You bet’cha we used it.
The guys at The Forge told us to relax and working out relaxes us both, so we knew we had to get a workout in.
With bikes, treadmills, weight machines, free weights, cable machines and more, you can definitely structure lots of different workouts in this place. The machines even have YouTube available on their screen.
Can I do intervals whilst watching reruns of Jersey Shore?
Is that ok?
All-in-all, The Forge really is a one-stop-apartment-shop if you like something different and are in the market for a new place to call home. I wish I could pick up the concierge team, communal area and gym and plop it at the bottom of my own apartment block.

I am all about relaxing. I love nothing more than those days where I don’t really have to leave my home and can sit and read.
Ok, yes. And watch Jersey Shore reruns. I LOVE TACKY STUFF OK?!
The lovely guys on the team wanted to make our stay just that extra bit more special so they very kindly booked us into the Mineral House Spa for two treatments, some chill spa time and an Afternoon Tea.
D-reamy.
We scoffed our morning pastries, grabbed our bags and headed quite literally over the road to The Crowne Plaza, home of the spa.
We each had 2 25-minute treatments. I opted for a deep-tissue back massage and a dreamy legs package. All this CrossFit definitely takes it’s toll on my body, so it’s the best way to just wind down.
My therapist, Amy, was absolutely brilliant. She put me at ease straight away and really tailored my massage to suit the issues my body needed. Leaving no knot left tugged at.
I grabbed my book (Crazy, Rich Asians FYI) and relaxed around the pool, dunked in the Jacuzzi and steamed my little face off.
We finished the trip off with an Afternoon Tea and I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT when Josh told me he’d never had an Afternoon Tea before.
Let’s just say that he can’t wait to pick up some scones and clotted cream on our next grocery trip.

We had such a fantastic 24-hour trip spent in the toon all thanks to the team at The Forge. If you’re looking for a new home in Newcastle, you should definitely have a little look on what they have to offer!
Also.
Pets welcome. BONUS.
