Beauty | Rimmel London Makeup Picks – 5 under £5

August 9, 2015

One of my favourite drugstore brands has to be Rimmel London. I didn’t realise how many products I actually owned until I rooted through my stash to pick out my most affordable picks that are under £5…

Scandaleyes Shadow Stick (£4.49) | Being one of the easier applications of eyeshadow and the By Terry Ombre Blackstars (I want) taking the beauty market by storm, eyeshadow sticks have became popular in the past couple of years. These shadow sticks are creamy, pigmented and easily blendable when you work with a fairly quick hand. They come in both shimmer and matte shades and various neutral colours with a green offering as well.

Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Liner (£3.99) | I remember having a black version of this eyeliner when I was younger and using it right down until it was about 2cm long! These eyeliners apply easily to the waterline, tight line and lash line and can be blended for a perfect smokey look with a pencil brush. I love this nude shade for brightening up the eye and making them look more awake on days where I seem to have a lack of life about me.

Brow This Way Styling Gel (£3.99) | If I didn’t use a eyebrow gel on a daily basis, my brows would be all over the shop. Offering both colour and clear shades, for a fraction of the price of popular high-end brands, these little tubes are a gem. They keep your eyebrows set in place all day without making them crusty as some products can often do. I do have to mention however, I am a fan of the clear gel more so than I am of the coloured shades. I found the mid-brown shade a tad too warm for my skin tone, however have heard that the blonde shade is great for fair-hair.

Exaggerate Lip Liner (£3.99) | As far as these lip liners go, Eastend Snob was on my lips for the majority of last year. A stunning nude, mauve shade that was the perfect Kylie Jenner full lips dupe. They are matte, so can be slightly drying, yet they stay around all day and can intensify a lipstick shade. I feel like the other lip liners by Rimmel are also great quality for a small price tag – they are my go to when I need a new shade!

Lasting Finish Lipstick (£4.99) | I wish I had realised how similar this ‘Asia’ shade is to MAC’s Brave before I purchased it – they are almost identical! Regardless of that, I really need to pick up more shades of this range of lipsticks as they really are great quality. They apply opaque with only a few swipes and stay on for a good 3-4 hours before needing to reply, which for a drugstore lipstick, is pretty good! They have a slight glossy finish but nothing too over the top, just a nice shine.

Is Rimmel a brand that is always on your radar? Let me know in the comments what products are your favourites – recommend me your most used! I feel like I need a good ol’ Boots 3 for 2 to go stock up on some bits that I haven’t tried just yet! Thanks for reading.
